Services · Video Redaction

Redaction that never lets the footage leave the building.

Records units face growing FOIA and public-records video requests, and manual redaction can take ten minutes of staff time per minute of footage. Camvi's on-premises redaction automates the blurring while your staff stays in control — no cloud upload, no outside party touching evidence.

How it works

Your server. Your staff. Our AI.

01

Install inside your agency

A single commodity server — even air-gapped — inside your records or IT environment. No footage ever leaves your network.

02

AI does the frame-scrubbing

Faces, license plates, and screens detected and tracked automatically across the footage — including in difficult, moving body-camera video.

03

Your reviewers approve

Staff review, adjust, and export the release copy. Human judgment stays in the loop; the machine does the tedium.

Why on-prem

Cloud redaction asks you to ship evidence to a vendor. We don't.

Chain of custody stays inside the agency, third-party-access questions disappear, and there are no per-minute cloud processing fees — the economics favor the agency, not the meter.

Frequently asked questions

What is on-premises video redaction software?

Software that automatically detects and blurs faces, license plates, and screens in body-camera and CCTV footage, running entirely on a server inside your agency. Your records staff operate it; the footage never leaves your custody or touches a cloud service.

How does on-prem redaction support CJIS Security Policy compliance?

Because the software runs inside your facility and is operated by your own personnel, criminal justice information never passes to an outside party or cloud environment — which removes the third-party access questions that cloud redaction services raise. Camvi supports CJIS Security Policy compliance; there is no such thing as a formal CJIS "certification" for products.

How long does redaction take compared to manual work?

Agencies have documented roughly 10 minutes of manual staff work per 1 minute of released footage. Automated detection with human review typically reduces staff time per request by an order of magnitude — your reviewers confirm and correct rather than frame-scrub.

How is this different from Axon Redaction Studio or Veritone Redact?

Axon’s tools live inside Evidence.com and Veritone Redact is a cloud service. Camvi is a standalone, on-premises alternative for agencies that want redaction without sending footage to a vendor cloud, without per-minute cloud fees, and without being tied to one evidence platform.

What footage types are supported?

Body-worn camera, in-car, interview-room, and fixed CCTV video in common formats, plus audio muting for review workflows. Ask us about your specific formats during a demo.
